Task thread · Built into Modak AI

A super assistant for your work
lives inside your messenger

Just tell Modak. The work opens separately as a single thread and gets done, and the results pile up there. Take a look along the way, change direction with one reply, and teammates can follow along in the same thread.

Pull out just the inventory part and calculate how many days until we run out

Modak9:20 AM

At 400 units a week, it runs out in about 20 days, around October 28. That's 9 days sooner than the packaging arrives (around November 6).

How it works

Talk to one person, work in a thread

If one chat line has to take in a long task, you have to wait, and to fix it you have to start over. Modak sets the work apart.

01

Tell Modak

In a 1:1 chat with Modak, or in a channel, mention @Modak and say "Take this."

02

A task thread opens

Only one card stays in the chat, and the work happens in the thread. You can keep talking about other things in the meantime.

03

Fix it with a reply

If you don't like the result, reply in that thread. Modak reads the earlier result and redoes only the parts that changed.

01 · Hand it off

Just say "take this on"
and the work opens separately

When you ask for something that can't be finished in one go, like a summary across several channels, a report, a notice draft, or an FAQ, Modak doesn't write a long reply on the spot. It opens a task thread. You can also write a request directly in the 「Tasks」 tab of the Modak AI screen.

There are three confirmed deadlines: draft 10/24, open 11/11, launch 11/25. I left the owners and deadlines for the other items as 「Needs confirmation」.

and change direction with one reply

A reply you write in a task thread is the instruction. If you say 「Turn it into a table」 or 「More detail on just this part」, Modak reads the earlier results through to the end and redoes only that part. To stop, press 「Stop」 on the card.

Invite teammates and your AI
to the same thread

Use "Invite" in a thread to bring in teammates and bots. When you connect the AI you use as a bot and invite it, it and Modak pass work to each other with @name, and you can see that whole conversation right in the thread. You can change direction anytime by writing a reply. Bots can reply back and forth up to 12 times in a row. For things you want to look at alone, use your 1:1 chat with Modak so only you see it. Once you invite someone, it becomes teamwork.

Please assume shipping is free for orders over 30,000 won. I'll confirm the packaging order by Friday.

Modak2:31 PM

I've made two changes.

  • Shipping fee Free over ₩30,000 (assumed) A single ₩29,000 item falls ₩1,000 short
  • Order packaging Lee Doyun · Fri 10/9

Whether shipping is charged on a single-item order has to be decided in the page wording.

04 · Outside research

Even things outside your company,
Modak finds on the web and brings back with sources

For things that aren't in your conversations, like competitor prices, market trends, laws, or public filings, Modak looks through web search, news, and public sources, then organizes what it finds with source links and the time it checked. There's nothing to turn on. If a task needs it, Modak looks it up on its own. One research run takes about a minute.

Takeaway Our ₩29,000 is lower than the list prices at all three stores. But for one of them, the gap from the official store's sale price is only ₩2,500.

Try handing off tasks like these

You can paste it as is

Weekly reportRead this week's three channels and write a report for the CEO. In this order: decisions, changes, numbers, risks, unanswered questions.
Announcement draftDraft an announcement telling customers the launch date changed. Use only facts from the channel and leave blanks for anything unknown.
FAQ# customer-inquiries Group the repeated questions in this channel into an FAQ. Mark anything unanswered as "Needs owner".
Outside researchLook up the current prices of three competing products on the web and put them in a comparison table with our price.
ChecklistMake a checklist of what we need to handle before pre-orders open, based on this channel's conversations.
Find what we missedPull out only the questions still unanswered and the items still undecided this week, with possible owners.
To trust it with the job

Doesn't make things up, only looks at what it can see

Says where it saw the information

Every answer cites its source as "# channel · who · when". Outside research includes the source URL and the date it was checked.

Says so when it doesn't know

Modak doesn't make up owners or deadlines that aren't in the conversation. It marks them as 「Needs confirmation」 and asks you to decide.

When a decision changes, the later one wins

If the launch date was pushed back once, Modak organizes it by the new date and notes the old date only as 「changed」.

Reads only what the person asking can see

Modak doesn't read private channels you can't join. When a teammate jumps in, it reads from that teammate's point of view.

If someone can't see it, it isn't posted there

If a result includes content that other people in the thread can't see, it goes to the requester's 1:1 chat instead of the channel.

Stop anytime, and a record stays

The person who assigned the task can stop it while it's running. Who assigned what and what came out stays right in the thread.

Being honest

What works now and what doesn't yet

What Modak does itself

It reads your workspace's conversations, boards, documents, and connected company data, and searches the web when needed to put things together. The results are written deliverables like reports, drafts, tables, and checklists.

Values found on the web are the ones seen that day

Prices and schedules change. Modak notes the source and the time it checked, so please check that page once more before using it to make a decision.

Need a fresh pair of eyes? Invite your AI

Connect the AI you use as a bot and invite it to a work thread, and you can ask it to review a draft or double-check your numbers. A bot only reads the threads it's invited to.

Code fixes and file creation

This is a job for the dev bot or research bot. You can use it with the 「Modak AI Agent」 plan, and it works in the same task thread.

What's not here yet

There's no personal assistant yet that keeps its own memory for each person. For now, the team shares one Modak, and it reads context from threads and channel conversations.

One task counts as one Modak AI use. The free plan gives each person 30 a month, and the Modak AI plan (2,900 won per person per month) gives 1,000 a month. See pricing details

Try handing off just one task today

One line is enough: "Summarize this week's channel conversations into a report." A thread opens, and if you want changes, just reply.

Use it without registering a card · even the free plan gives each person 30 uses a month
